Noting: AI To-Do & Planner · Updated: 3 November 2026

Noting turns what you say into tasks, lists and goals. No account, no ads, no tracking. Your tasks stay on your device; the only text that leaves it is a request you send to Noting AI (section 5).

1. What we do not collect

The app needs no sign-up. The developer does not collect your name, contacts, location or usage analytics. The app contains no third-party advertising or analytics code.

2. Where your data is kept

Your tasks, lists, goals and settings are stored on your device. If you are signed in to iCloud, they sync between your devices on the same Apple ID through your own private iCloud database, held by Apple and not accessible to the developer.

3. Microphone, speech recognition and recordings

The microphone is used only while you hold the talk button (or after you start Noting from Siri, the Action button, a widget or the lock-screen control, until you tap Done). Speech is turned into text with Apple's on-device speech recognition. The recording is kept on this device only, so you can play it back next to the task; it is not synced or uploaded, and recordings older than 30 days that no open task uses are deleted automatically.

4. Organizing with Apple Intelligence

When available and turned on, Noting uses Apple's on-device language model to organize what you said and suggest steps. This runs on your device; your text is not sent to the developer.

5. Noting AI (optional)

When you tap an AI button (plan my day, break into steps, draft a reply, ask) and Noting AI is on in Settings, the text needed for that request is sent over HTTPS to Noting's relay server, which forwards it to a large language model service (DeepSeek) and returns the answer to you. That text is what you typed or said as text, the task, list or goal it is about, and, if it helps the answer, short notes from your Memory. Audio recordings are never sent. Everyday capture and organizing by rules does not use Noting AI and stays on your device.

The relay runs on Cloudflare, and on a server in mainland China for users there. It does not store the content of your requests or the answers. To enforce the daily allowance it keeps a counter tied to a random identifier generated on your device (not your name, Apple ID or advertising identifier); for Noting Pro subscribers the counter is tied to an anonymous subscription identifier taken from Apple's signed transaction. The language model provider processes the text under its own terms and privacy policy. You can turn Noting AI off in Settings at any time.

5b. Notifications

Reminders are scheduled and delivered locally by your device, with no push server of ours. You can turn them off in system settings at any time.

6. Purchases

Noting Pro is an auto-renewing subscription handled by Apple. The developer never sees your payment details; the app only sends Apple's signed proof of an active subscription to Noting's relay so the higher daily allowance applies.

7. Children

Noting is a general productivity app and is not directed at children under 13.

8. Deleting your data

Deleting the app deletes the data on your device. The iCloud copy can be removed in Settings › [your name] › iCloud › Manage Storage › Noting.

9. Changes

If this policy changes we will update the date on this page.
